Why are users getting logged out of Salesforce? 

If you keep getting logged out of Salesforce, we recommend to trying the following:

Salesforce Settings

  1. Check the timeout session value by going to Setup>Administration Setup>Security Controls>Session Settings. Have the Salesforce administrator review all settings to ensure that all is in order to their expectations.

  2. Check the Business Login Hours by going to Setup>Administration Setup>Company Profile> Business Hours. 

  3. Check the user’s login history to see if anything stands out in error messages or create a debug log for that particular user to see where it logs out within their session.


  1. If you are using Internet Explorer browser, select the gear in the upper-right corner of the screen or the Tools menu if you have the menu bar enabled, then select “Internet Options.”

  2. Select Security>Internet>Custom Level

  3. Scroll down to Scripting and select the radio button to Enable (it can also say Scriptlet).

  4. Select OK. Then, OK again.

  5. If using Safari or Chrome browser, have the user clear out its cache, cookies and download history to see if that addresses the issue.
